I Went In A Corn Field Today!
Hola, my lovely family and friends sorry I haven't sent one of these out in a bit just been doing Maryland tings lately! Anyways so much has happened since Mexico till now (finishing the second week here in Westminster, Maryland). I'll try to tell you a few wild things that have happened since being here. First of all my spanish is still trash I'm getting absolutely carried by my trainer Elder Bawden and I really wish I could say and do more in the companionship, but it is what it is at this point I'm just trusting the lord that I'll get where I need to be eventually. I haven't talked to anyone too crazy yet but I think that's just because I'm in a smaller city/cities in my area.
But we did talk to one guy, a homeless guy who was nice, but definitely drunk, he asked us about some sort of higher species than humans that he saw in the Forest. I thought he was talking about Bigfoot or something but naw he said it was like a human type species that had like evil spirits in them so me and elder bawden just had no idea what he was talking about or what we should say to him about that.
Anyways, another thing we were knocking in Hanover (a city in our area) and this Puerto Rican woman and her son answered the door and let us in. We gave them the restoration lesson and it was fine at first until she started laughing for like no reason, I thought it might've been cuz my spanish was kinda bad, but then her son said they had been watching AFV and she was just laughing at something they just saw, it was such a weird situation tho. Throughout the whole lesson she would just laugh, we think she might've been a little drunk too. But the lesson was decent overall and she said she would read the book of mormon and we could come back and talk to her again, and then towards the end she pulled out this wooden cutout of a sheep because there was a sheep on the pamphlet we gave her, so that was also really random but we got a picture with it so I'll put that at the bottom.
Also a few days ago in Hanover, we had a lesson with this family and we were going to go over restoration again with them but we changed the topic to the plan of salvation mid lesson and we were having a good discussion with them about that for awhile and eventually elder bawden surprisingly asked them if they would set the goal to be baptized October 9th, and I was just sitting there understanding nothing they were saying but I understood what he said and I was kinda freaking out in my head cuz I wasn't expecting it at all. They said they didn't want to rush into it but they said they would pray about it and we could come back and talk to them about it, so I'm praying that we can get them baptized! I'd love to hear from everyone and what you've been up to, so email me back or send me a message on Facebook messenger if you want!
Also I just want to share how amazing the book of mormon is, I have never read it fully through on my own but I'm almost about to finish it. Before the Mish I did not enjoy reading it that much, I thought it was kinda boring tbh. But the BOM is so sick, I just read the war chapters in Alma and when Moroni sent his epistle to Ammoron and it was so hype, Moroni is such a savage. If you guys aren't reading the book of mormon right now I really recommend it, at least a little bit a day, and you will be blessed for your efforts.
