The Three Amigos!!
Que tal todos!! How's everybody been doing!! I hope everyone has been fantastic and productive lately. Summer is finally here and it has felt pretty good here in Maryland! Not too much with missionary work has happened since I last sent an email, but I'll tell you a few highlights and details.
- Explanation of the title: My old companion Elder Stewart left :( he went to Lancaster, it was a good time with him. But now I am in a trio! I have 2 companions for this transfer. They are Elder Diestra and Benson. Elder Diestra is from PerĂº which is dope but he does speak decent English with a few things he doesn't know here and there. Elder Benson is from Utah and was actually the past AP (Assistant to the President of the mission) which is like the highest place you can get as a missionary haha. But he's been super great to have as a companion bc he knows how to work hard and he's already taught me a lot in these past few days together. This is also his last transfer in the mission! But it's been super fun to be in a trio thus far.
- I have 3 more days till I hit 10 months as a missionary! It is going quick but I have a lot more time to do the work of the lord.
I still love the work, even though we haven't seen too much success. I know that as I do everything I possibly can to help others come unto Christ, God will magnify my efforts. Sometimes It just takes patience to know that God is preparing people for us to find and teach. Something that I have been reading about in the book of mormon is when the sons of mosiah wanted to go and preach the gospel to the other civilization. It says: "Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not bear that any human soul should perish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble."
I don't quite tremble when I think that someone might not be saved, but it sure does make me sad, there are sooo many people that haven't hear about this great gospel and how it can bring them eternal joy, and I hope everyone can find it. That includes all of you. Love you guys, keep reading your scriptures, praying, and going to church. Have a great week!
- Elder Hill
Landry Hill alex.hill@missionary.org
Mother Hill here. I was able to speak with Elder Hill yesterday on mothers day and it was such a treat. He was able to attend the baptism of Sara Salazar from his second area with Elder Starr. I will attach the pictures to this email. They are very sweet and I can feel the love and excitement from everyone there that day. This is a highlight for Elder Hill and hopes to be able to attend Gino and Sara temple marriage in a year from now. Which is the icing on the cake for any missionary. He felt the spirit so strong this past weekend and was able to see the fruits of his labor and love. I am sure he will write about it in an email at some point but I thought i would share from his mothers perspective. What a blessing for him and the Salazar family. He loves their family and knows he was meant to be there and teach them of their saviors love. So proud of my missionary and how he is growing and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
