Trainee Pt2

Cómo les va?
Guau! The mission is wild, so I think I talked about in my last email how I just got called to train an elder, elder Butler. What usually happens is the trainer and trainee stay together for 2 transfers which is 12 weeks to get fully trained, but that didn't happen with Elder Butler haha. On the day we got transfer news our mission president called me to let me know that I would be training a brand new missionary again! That was kinda shocking cuz I had only been with Elder Butler for 1 transfer (6 weeks). So Elder Butler left for a different area and I got my brand new trainee ( Elder Mcclure). He is from Wyoming and is 6ft 5in! He actually had a scholarship to play quarterback at Wyoming University! So he is very good at football. It's been fun to have him and he is very nice, humble, and ready to get to work out here. It's been fun because he is reminding me of what it was like in my training, full of questions and not knowing what the heck is going on, especially not knowing Spanish too well.  But ya I'm excited to keep training, it's funny to see him not really understand the dominican, and Cuban Spanish, but he's doing great.

And also I reached 15 months on the mission so it really is going quick! Still got a while but I'm loving it.

Just wanted to share a couple verses from the book of mormon. In alma chapter 5.

26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?

27 Have ye walked, keeping yourselves blameless before God? Could ye say, if ye were called to die at this time, within yourselves, that ye have been sufficiently humble? That your garments have been cleansed and made white through the blood of Christ, who will come to redeem his people from their sins?

28 Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life.

I love the reminder of how we need to see if we truly have been changed in our lives, we need to ask ourselves that question all the time, and if we can't see that we have been changed by Jesus and have been spiritually clean we need change. This life isn't the time to just do whatever and expect we've done enough to return to God's presence, the prophet recently said something dope, he said,
"The baseless notion that we should “eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with us” is one of the most absurd lies in the universe."
So we gotta be responsible for our spiritual growth and connection with God, hopefully you all can take time to ask yourselves those questions.

Love you all so much! I would love to hear from you

Con Amor
